Self-catering holiday cottages seldom comes as well appointed as the cottages
at White Lodge Farm. Each luxury holiday cottage - we have three and can offer accommodation for 1 to 18 guests (plus infants) -
combines the comfort you'd expect in a modern hotel with
the many personal touches and attention to detail which go to make them holiday cottages which
guests so often refer to in our visitors' books as a "home from home".
Converted by craftsmen and fitted and equipped to a high standard throughout, each holiday
cottage at White Lodge Farm has the English Tourism Council's five self catering accommodation rating.
The central location makes these Norfolk country cottages an ideal refuge from which to enjoy
all that the beautiful county has to offer,
or simply a place to relax overlooking our paddocks and the countryside beyond.
The exceptionally well equipped cottages offer a suitable venue for a family holiday, a relaxing retreat, a
celebration or get-together for a
larger party seeking group accommodation.
Stay for three days or longer - we offer short breaks (midweek breaks from Monday to Friday and
weekend breaks from Friday to Monday) throughout the year except Christmas and New Year, when the length
of the stay depends on when Christmas and New Year fall (multi-cottage bookings are not available for Christmas
or New Year).
If you're looking for somewhere for a gathering with a group of friends or family,
perhaps to celebrate a special birthday or
an anniversary, or simply a get-together or re-union, you'll find the self catering cottages at White Lodge Farm offer well-appointed
accommodation with bathrooms in abundance, dining tables and comfy seating for the whole party, and plenty of kitchenware and tableware.
Also, a number of local caterers are happy to cook a special meal for guests at White Lodge Farm.
Families describe the holiday cottages as child-friendly, citing the finishes,
the children's towels, the fact that there are no precious antiques or light carpets, the fenced gardens and
the abundance of places to visit with the young in body (or at heart) in mind. Guests even comment on the attention to detail,
such as the blackout linings to the bedroom curtains. High chairs, cots and stair gates are amongst the child friendly
offerings, all available without charge, of course.
For some ideas of things to do with youngsters take a look at the
Child's Play page.
For those seeking a relaxing break, each cottage has its own, lawned and fenced garden with an outdoor
seating area and garden furniture for resting or al fresco dining.
The cottages are spacious, light and airy, furnished and equipped
with the more discerning visitor in mind - furnishings are comfortable, practical and
child-friendly.
Central heating, modern insulation, log burners and a wide range of other modern
amenities all contribute to the feeling of homeliness in each cottage.
Kitchens are
well-equipped - each cottage has a dishwasher
(the Barn has two), washing machine, tumble dryer, food processor, and double oven
(the Barn has a range cooker) and there's plenty of crockery, cutlery and glassware.
When it comes to entertainment there are books, games, a TV, DVD player and clock radios in each of the
cottages.
The cottages are approached
over our private driveway from a country lane (there's ample parking, all off-road), and yet are only a 15 minute walk from the
pretty Georgian village of Hingham. The village, which has a strong
transatlantic connection,
is thriving, with a pub, antiques shop,
restaurant and bistro, and a range of shops including a butcher, a baker, a chemist and two grocery stores.
The surrounding countryside will appeal to all ages. It is ideal
for walking,
cycling in quiet lanes,
golf (those keen on golfing will be spoilt for choice with 12 golf courses within as many miles!),
sightseeing or just lazing around.
The cottages look out over miles of surrounding countryside and the wide
vistas offer spectacular views of sunsets and star-filled skies. For
those wishing to explore there are a wealth of activities, antiquities
and other attractions to be found in Norfolk and North Suffolk.
Thetford Forest, the historic city of
Norwich, with its outstanding
architecture and shopping facilities, the market towns of
Dereham, Watton and Wymondham (with its Abbey), the Norfolk Broads the
beautiful beaches of the North Norfolk Coast, and the Peddars and
Marriott's Way are all accessible from White Lodge Farm.
Dairy Cottage and Stable Cottage
each sleep up to six guests plus infants and the Barn sleeps up to 12 guests plus infants.
Larger groups (we can accommodate a party of up to 18 guests plus infants)
often choose to book two
cottages, making White Lodge Farm an ideal place to celebrate a
special occasion. To assist
guests who are less mobile all cottages have level or ramped
access and there are no internal changes of level on the ground floor.
Like our accommodation, we aim to be flexible, and are happy to discuss
your party's particular requirements before your on-site hosts, Helen and Tony Richardson, welcome you to White Lodge Farm.
This website includes descriptions and many more photographs of what's on offer

visitors' books.
We look forward to hearing from you.
