Group accommodation - The Barn

Group accommodation for a large party looking for self catering holiday cottages seldom comes as well appointed as that in the Barn at White Lodge Farm Cottages. The Barn sleeps a party of up to 12 guests plus infants (=sleeping in cots).

One of the three luxury holiday cottages at White Lodge Farm, the Barn has been given the coveted VisitBritain five star rating in recognition of the quality of the accommodation and the welcome afforded to guests in this luxury self catering cottage.

Like our other luxury holiday cottages - Stable Cottage (sleeping six guests) and Dairy Cottage (also sleeping 12 guests) - the Barn has been designed for use specifically as a holiday cottage offering group accommodation with the more discerning guest in mind.

This luxury holiday cottage offers six bedrooms and five bathrooms (two of them en suite), a dining table seating up to 18, a double-oven range cooker with eight burners, a spacious sitting room and a further casual seating area all contribute to a group of 12 people sharing the Barn in comfort. All factors which have helped the Barn achieve its five star cottage rating and which make it an ideal choice for a larger group or to celebrate a special occasion.

Holiday accommodation

A glazed oak screen, with doors which lead to the large patio area and the Barn's own fenced garden, with garden furniture in the summer mean that the Barn now benefits from plenty of natural light and some far-reaching views over the surrounding countryside.

Much of the ground floor of the original building is given over to a single room with kitchen, dining and seating areas (part of which is pictured here). The dining area has been organised so that a party of up to 18 guests can eat together, enabling the Barn to be booked in conjunction with either Stable Cottage or Dairy Cottage for a weekend or midweek short break.

It is difficult on a website to convey the size and comfort of the Barn (and many guests tell us that these photographs do not do it justice) but, by clicking on the links in the detailed descriptions which follow, we hope you can get at least some idea of the quality of the accommodation. The accommodation, which provides bedrooms for up to 12 guests plus infants (ie sleeping in cots), comprises:

• on the ground floor:
• Principal room: sitting area, dining area and kitchen area (10.8m x 5.9m)
• Utility room: (3.3m x 1.8m)
• Bedroom 1: double (3.9m x 3.4m) with ensuite bathroom (2.3m x 1.7m) and dressing area (2.0m x 1.5m)
• Bedroom 2: double (3.7m x 3.1m)
• Bedroom 3: twin (3.9m x 3.4m)
• Bedroom 4: twin (3.7m x 3.1m)
• Family bathroom 1: (2.3m x 2.1m)
• Family bathroom 2: (2.6m x 1.9m) (with wheel-in shower)

• on the first floor:
• Sitting room: (8.5m x 5.9m).
• Bedroom 5: double (3.5m x 3.4m) with ensuite bathroom (2.3m x 1.9m)
• Bedroom 6: double (5.0m x 2.7m)
• Family bathroom 3: (2.3m x 1.9m).

Travel cots can be accommodated in all the double bedrooms and bedrooms 1 and 6 each have ample room for a full-size cot, which can be supplied without charge, subject to availability (guests are asked to bring their own bedding and mattress in line with current guidance).

The cottage has its own fenced garden including a lawned area and large patio with garden furniture provided for the use of guests in the summer months.
