Five star grading has been awarded to Dairy Cottage, Stable Cottage
 and the Barn by VisitBritain

The five star rating given to the self catering cottages at White Lodge Farm provides a measure of the quality of the accommodation and the facilities provided.

Although the star ratings set down minimum criteria to be met, the self-catering accommodation at White Lodge Farm Cottages seeks to exceed those requirements in so many areas.

The Barn, Dairy Cottage and Stable Cottage are each equipped with:

  • TV (the Barn has two)
  • video cassette recorder/player
  • DVD player (the Barn has two)
  • CD player/radio tuner (all cottages have two)
  • washing machine
  • tumble dryer
  • dishwasher (the Barn has two)
  • microwave oven
  • double oven with hob (the Barn has an eight-burner, double oven range cooker)
  • fridge/freezer (the Barn and Dairy Cottage each have a drinks cooler as well)
  • toaster
  • kettle
  • iron and ironing board
  • hairdryers
  • radio alarm clocks
  • a mirror in every bedroom (some also have illuminated make-up mirrors)
  • ample supplies of crockery, glasses, cutlery and kitchen utensils
  • oil-fired boiler (providing central heating and hot water); and
  • wood burner (providing heat and a homely feel)
and, for the use of guests during their stay, we provide:
  • continental quilts and pillows (neither are feather-filled) (but not for cots)
  • bed linen (but not for cots)
  • hand and bath towels and flannel
  • tea towels
not to mention:
  • books in profusion
  • games
  • suggestions of places to visit and things to do
  • heaps of leaflets concerning local events, attractions, places and things (if you've any particular interests we'll be happy to offer some suggestions, either in advance of your arrival or whilst you're with us, of things which you may like to see or do).

Each cottage has its own lawned and fenced garden with a decked area or patio and, when the weather is suitable, garden furniture including a large table for al fresco dining.

On arrival you will find:

  • a "welcome" tea tray
  • dishwasher tablets/powder
  • washing tablets/powder
  • fabric conditioner
  • washing-up liquid
  • liquid soap
  • kitchen roll
  • loo rolls.

When the weather suggests that this would enhance your visit, we also provide a basket of logs for the wood burner. Further quantities may be obtained locally during your stay and fire guards are available on request and without charge for all cottages, as are stairgates in the cottages with stairs (the Barn and Stable Cottage).

Bedlinen and towels are changed weekly. However, we are happy to change these more frequently (an additional charge applies).

Guests are welcome to use our libraries of:

  • DVDs
  • video cassettes.

No charge is made for these loans, although we may require a security deposit for DVDs and video cassettes (which will, of course, be fully refunded on safe return of the item borrowed).

Guests with children may request use of a high chair, cot and steam steriliser. These are provided without charge, but subject to availability and pre-booking. To comply with current recommendations in that respect, neither bedding nor mattresses are supplied for cots for health reasons.
