Self-catering accommodation for larger groups
Finding self-catering accommodation for a larger group can be challenge, particularly for the organiser.
At White Lodge Farm we aim to make it easier.
We can accommodate a party of up to 18 plus infants for a weekend or midweek short break. Booking the
Barn in conjunction with either
Dairy Cottage or
Stable Cottage gives a group a total of 12 beds across nine bedrooms (six double rooms
and three twin rooms).
Whether you're looking for somewhere for friends, family, a celebration or a reunion, or perhaps for a meeting with colleagues,
the self-catering cottages at
White Lodge Farm can provide the perfect setting.
But finding the venue is only part of it as there'll
no doubt be other considerations, most of which will fall to the party organiser to sort out.
We hope that by reading on
you can see whether or not White Lodge Farm will suit the needs and expectations of your friends,
family or colleagues. If not, please contact us and we'll do our best to help.
-
Will everyone else in the party agree with the organiser's choice?
Simply direct them to this website so that they
can admire your choice for themselves!
-
Perhaps someone in the party has particular requirements or would like some further information?
We'll be happy to answer their questions. Ask them to contact us direct.
-
There's enough room for everyone to sleep, but can we all eat together?
The dining tables in the
Barn seat 18 (which is why this is our maximum party size).
-
You say that 18 people can eat together but the
Barn sleeps 12 (plus infants). Does that mean we'll need to move
chairs and crockery and the like between cottages?
Definitely not. Not only can 18 people dine togetehr but there's also loads of casual seating in the
Barn, not to mention crockery, cutlery
and glassware for 18. And there's also a range cooker with a double oven and 8 burners. Oh, and the
Barn
also has two dishwashers.
-
How will we sort out who has the bedrooms and who gets to sleep on a sofa?
Easy. No-one at White Lodge Farm
is accommodated on bed settees, sofa beds, camp beds, z-beds, sleeping bags, bed rolls or in bunk rooms. There are
none of these at White Lodge Farm and
we will not take more guests per cottage than there are beds for them. But we're happy to book the
Barn along with another
cottage for weekend and mid week short breaks (we may ask for a higher security deposit for
a multiple booking).
-
Will one of us end up doing all the cooking?
Only if you want to. There are a number of local caterers we can put you in touch with who will prepare a meal for you in your cottage
and even serve it for you for far less than you'd pay to eat in most restaurants (nor will you be paying restaurant prices for your wine
or have to decide who's going to drive).
-
Will we have to drive everywhere?
There's a pub, a tea shop and a bistro in the village, within 15 minutes walk, but if you want to venture further a couple of
the local taxi firms run people carriers (or why not bring some bikes).
-
We want to do some things as a group. Any suggestions?
There's plenty to do. If you just tell us how active you want to be we'll be happy to provide some further suggestions.
For example, you might consider a trip to the theatre, go ten-pin bowling, have a personalised trip around a local
stately home, garden, nursery, historic building or nature reserve, visit the seals at Blakeney Point, try one of the aerial assault
courses or go ballooning, hire a self-drive boat on the Broads, go off-road driving, charter a river boat or go paint balling.
Many offer special rates for groups and we'd be happy to point you in the right direction or take a look at the
page of suggested activities for groups.
-
We'd like to have another group join us for lunch or supper one day. Is that OK?
Access to the cottages is limited to people staying at White Lodge Farm and the number of people you may have in the cottage
and the grounds is limited to the people booked to stay. The cottages may not be used for "open house" or similar arrangements.
-
It would be nice to eat out once or twice.
That's fine. There are country pubs close by (the one in the village is a 15 minute walk) serving good food and most
are happy to take a booking form a large party. There are also some good restaurants around.
If we've not answered all your questions, if you have some particular requirements or you'd like
to check availability please call us.

"The best 'big' house we've stayed in, a standard that'll be hard to
beat."

"We've had a fantastic weekend with our group of 18 for a 30th birthday. The beds are so comfy and the cottage had
everything we needed. We'd like to come back as a weekend just wasn't long enough."
