Luxury holiday cottages - Stable Cottage

One of just three luxury holiday cottages at White Lodge Farm, Stable Cottage has been given the coveted VisitBritain five star rating in recognition of the quality of the accommodation and the welcome afforded to guests in this luxury self catering cottage.

Converted, as the name suggests, from the stables and harness room, Stable Cottage offers luxury holiday accommodation for a party of up to six guests plus infants.

Like our other luxury holiday cottages, Dairy Cottage (also sleeping six guests) and the Barn (sleeping 12 guests), Stable Cottage has been designed for use specifically as a holiday cottage and with the more discerning guest in mind.

Although that spaciousness and the exceptional quality of the accommodation is difficult to convey photographically, we hope that the detailed descriptions and the pictures which follow will give you at least some idea of why we say that this cottage was designed with the more discerning self-catering guest in mind (the images can also be accessed from the thumbnails' page).

There are four indoor seating areas in Stable Cottage - the farmhouse kitchen, with its large dining table, the sitting room, a hall looking to the west, and the hayloft.

The cottage is spacious and comfortable, with underfloor central heating throughout and, for that extra touch of homeliness, there's a log burner in the sitting room.

Holiday accommodation

The holiday accommodation comprises:

• Farmhouse kitchen and dining area (7.3m x 4.4m)
• Sitting room (6.7m x 4.8m)
• Bedroom 1: A double room (4.4m x 3.5m) with en-suite/family bathroom (2.3m x 1.9m)
• Bedroom 2: A double room (4.4m x 3.9m)
• Bedroom 3: A twin room (4.4m x 3.1m)
• Family bathroom (2.4m x 1.7m)
• Hayloft, accessed by stairs from, and overlooking, the farmhouse kitchen (a stairgate is available)
• Hall, for relaxing and reading.

The flexible design means that the en-suite bathroom which, like the second bathroom, has a bath with a shower over, can also function as a family bathroom. Both double bedrooms have ample room for a cot which can be supplied without charge, subject to availability (guests are asked to bring their own bedding and mattress in line with current guidance).

The holiday cottage has its own fenced garden and large doors open from the sitting room and from the hall onto a decked area with garden furniture. The outlook from the sundeck and garden is over paddocks to the arable farmland beyond.
